This morning I didn’t feel like doing anything major, so I had a great breakfast at Jack’s Cafe with my friend (and the owner), Gary, before visiting the Q’oricancha a few blocks away.
This site was once the center of the Incan religious world. Some of the finest stonework in all of South America can be seen here. Only a small portion of this magnificent complex remains with a few walls that once were covered with sheets of gold.
The Santo Domingo church and monastery was constructed on the grounds and the site is still run by the Dominicans.
As always, I walked very slowly through the site looking for unique photos besides the usual tourist pics. (Interestingly, I almost always am asked by tourists to take photos for them, but they rarely like the more professional photos. They prefer the ones that look exactly like everyone else’s pics.)
As always, be sure to click on each individual photo to see a larger version. I think I got some very interesting shots today that you’ll enjoy.
